Fissure Sealing

In children, it is usually a good idea to protect the permanent molars with a sealant. The fine grooves and ridges on the chewing surface, called fissures, are thoroughly cleaned and then sealed with a special sealant. This greatly reduces the child's risk of tooth decay, especially in the back teeth.
